Magnet Collective has been an unofficial title for the collaborative contemporary artwork between my friend and I for quite some time. The challenge for this project was creating a more official brand for this collective, while still adhering to the general contemporary and non-conformist attitude of the collaborative work. The goal of this project was to build a brand using aesthetic principles while not conforming to conventional “graphic design” techniques such as grid layout and streamlined elements.
Elements include a hypothetical web layout, “business cards” which have the web address as well as a scanable bar code that takes you to the website, and an integrated Instagram profile.
Formal theme elements include chaotic crossing lines referencing a magnetic field, distorted type, and a direct divorce from a grid system and easily accessible information.
